On The Job Training Opportunity – Ossipee NH

We are looking to hire an OJT “On the Job Training” person for the NHDOT Ossipee project. This is a great opportunity for someone to receive training and start a career in the construction industry.

Trainees:

NHDOT OJT Program is a great opportunity to gain employment and develop a career in the transportation industry. Trainees can enjoy the practical approach to acquiring new competencies and skills needed a job in a real working environment. The training hours vary from 500-600 hours and are based on specific job classifications. The OJT SS Program offers assistance with removing barriers to employment such as reimbursement for boots, tools, training and similar. 

I have attached some more pertinent details of the job description/training programs available.

To qualify, the person must be at least 18 years old, and a woman, minority or disadvantaged individual as defined in the attached, with no previous experience in the construction industry.

We are looking for a reliable and precise professional to help us properly maintain our payable information. The Accounts Payable Specialist completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. We are seeking an experienced candidate who can assign invoices to the proper cost centers, work with vendors to resolve past due invoices and reconcile monthly statements with vendors within the construction industry.

Accounts Payable Specialist Responsibilities

  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
  • Process check requests
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries
  • Assist in month end closing
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Assist with other projects as needed
  • Secondary support of scale operations

Accounts Payable Specialist Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in accounts payable
  • Ability to use Microsoft productivity software such as Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with Accounting Software. Viewpoint preferred, however, not required
  • Must have a strong work ethic
  • Strong organizational ability and a self-starter
  • Ability to follow standard filing procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail, professional attitude, reliable
  • Effective corporate communications skills
  • Ability to consistently meet all deadlines

On the Job Training Position – Londonderry NH

Alvin J Coleman & Son, Inc is currently seeking applicants for On The Job Training Positions on a NH Department of Transportation Project.

Applicant must have virtually no heavy construction experience and be interested in entering a new field of work. The job involves outdoor work in all weather conditions and is an entry level position and a great way to “get your foot in the door” in the construction industry.

The position is for the Interstate 93 Widening Project between Exits 5 & 6 in Londonderry and Manchester and is a prevailing wage project that offers a great opportunity for someone that wants to work hard and learn about the highway construction industry.

It is important that the applicant be aware of the inherent dangers in Highway Construction and know that attention to safety is mandatory.
